Mental Health

Built for Production. Centred on People.

MindReady Media provide specialist psychological consultancy and training to help productions meet their duty of care around mental health and psychological wellbeing with confidence, clarity, and compassion. Led by senior clinicians, our work draws on more than four decades of experience across healthcare, the military, and broadcast media, and is grounded in practice that is calm, practical, and ethically robust.

From participant screening and on-set psychological support to crisis management and aftercare, we work closely with production teams to promote psychological safety at every stage, without compromising creative intent or disrupting production flow.

We also have a particular commitment to supporting the people behind the production, including runners, camera and sound teams, editors, producers, and directors. We understand the unique pressures of working in television, which is why we offer tailored training, one-to-one support, clinical supervision, and reflective practice groups designed specifically for the realities of the industry.

Mental Health Services

Pre-Production
Support

We work with production teams during the early stages of development to ensure psychological wellbeing is built into the format from the start. Our support includes welfare planning, risk identification, and guidance on ethical storytelling so productions can move forward with confidence and robust duty-of-care processes in place.

Psychological
Consultation

Our consultants provide expert psychological and mental health advice throughout the production process. We support producers, editorial teams, and welfare staff in navigating complex contributor situations, managing sensitive content, and ensuring the wellbeing of everyone involved in the production.

Fitness For
Inclusion Assessments

We conduct professional psychological assessments to determine whether contributors are suitable to participate in a programme. Through structured interviews and wellbeing screening, we ensure participants understand the experience, can give informed consent, and are supported appropriately throughout the production.

Pre-Transmission
Support

We prepare contributors for the emotional and practical impact of broadcast. This includes guidance around public attention, social media, and managing expectations about how their story may be received by audiences.

On-Set
Psychological Support

Our psychological team provide real-time support during filming to help maintain a safe and supportive environment for contributors and crew. This includes wellbeing check-ins, emotional support during challenging moments, and guidance for production teams when welfare concerns arise.

Transmission and Post-Broadcast Support

Our support continues while programmes are on air and afterwards. We check in with contributors during broadcast, helping them navigate media attention, public reaction, and any emotional challenges that may arise.

Post-Filming Support

After filming concludes, we offer structured debriefs and wellbeing check-ins to help contributors process their experience and transition back to everyday life. Our post-filming support ensures participants feel supported beyond the production environment.

Training Services

We design tailored training programmes for broadcasters, production companies, and creative teams. These sessions can cover topics such as mental health awareness, trauma-informed storytelling, and psychological duty of care in the media.

Training for
Contributors

We prepare participants for the realities of television production, helping them understand the process and build strategies for managing stress, emotional challenges, and public exposure.

Training for
Production Teams

We deliver practical training for production staff on contributor wellbeing, safeguarding, and recognising signs of distress. Our sessions help teams create safer, more supportive production environments.

Supervision and Reflective Practice

Welfare Team
Supervision

We provide professional supervision for welfare teams working in television and media. These sessions offer space to discuss complex situations, reflect on ethical decision-making, and maintain high standards of care.

Reflective Practice
Groups

Our reflective practice sessions support professionals working with contributors and talent. These facilitated sessions help teams process experiences, build resilience, and develop insight into their work.
